Some Quick Tips!
It's not your bunny-it's your cage!
*Bunnies DO NOT need a bunny friend. You or other pets are their friend. They love people, cats, dogs, guineapigs, etc. We rehome more single bunnies than dual bunnies. However they are so cute, so you may want more than one : -).
*HAY MUST BE - Timothy hay/grass, 50lbs bale of hay will last up to 12 months fresh. Any hay brand will work!
*Hay is food, and will spoil/mold when wet/soiled. Hay need to be up in a hay rack to stop hay waste.
*Bedding is wood chips/pellets or 'carefresh" paper chips/pellets to absorb. The same bedding in their cage can be the same bedding for their corner potty.
*Rabbits potty train easily, "You Tube" has great ideas on speeding up the potty process.
*Please be careful not to hold, grab the baby bunny feet- front & back or press their lungs. This will break their back, and they will die in a day. They are infants, and need to be treated as babies, and played with very very gently until they are a year old.
*At any age, holding their feet will snap their back when they kick out, an cause them to die.
*At any age, putting to much pressure on their lungs will break their rib cage, and cause them to die.
*Rabbits are basically big Guinea Pigs* They do not carry fleas, ticks, or rabies. Therefore like guinea pig's, chinchilla's, they would only need to see a veterinarian when sick, like not eating.
*Rabbits are great for children 5yrs and up, Guinea pigs are best for children under 5 years old.
*Rabbits, cats or dogs who are small in weight, spaying or neuter would be hard on them. They may not survive the operation. *Rabbits were not spayed in the old days, not sure why they would need to be spayed now-a-days.
*Rabbits are just as happy by their self. In the wild you do not see rabbits in groups; they each have their own den.
*Female's are most likely to get along, and Male's are most not likely to get along if you are wanting more than one cute bunny. Just note they may each need their own cage/space if they begin not to get along.
* Remove all huts/shelters/hide-outs, to help keep the bunny from having a place to retreat from you. This can make them less sociable, by shear habit, to run away to hide. Lets keep the bunny running to you inside their cage.
*Bunnies run in circles around the cage, so a more "squarer base" frame is better than an "elongated/rectangular base" frame which is not recommended.
*Bigger cages makes more work for you, and harder to handle and clean, they also take more bedding. You will be more happier with a simple average MEDIUM style indoor cage. Smaller cages will need to be clean more often.
*Rabbits keep themselves clean, so no baths are needed. Baths can cause death for bunny.
*Did you know that only pure white rabbit's will either have only: red eyes or blue eyes!
* For warmer weather do not let direct sun shine into the cage, they will over heat fast, and please plan to move the outdoor rabbit hutch to a shady area and face open front toward the North cooler winds. They can DIE from a heat strokes! Hanging fans are GREAT! you can get the box indoor fans that work fine staying outside for $23.00 at walmart.
*For cooler weather move the outdoor hutch in a sunny area with the closed back towards the North cold winter winds, they may need a warm box with hay to rest in on very cold nights. they have their rabbit fur coat to keep them warm.
*Removable Sitting Boards are great for time off the wire.
*Having both: a indoor cage and outdoor cage is ideal. so they can be brought in during bad weather or indoor play time.
*When your bunny belly is bloated; and they stop eating, and not moving around much. This may kill your bunny. Take them off all foods and hay asap until better. You must get asap "infant gas relief drops" simethicone 20mg anti-gas drops for human babies. Any brand name or off brand will work; it cost about $4.00. Give as much as you can through out the day(s), the whole bottle until they are better. This will help them go to the bathroom, and get the glob of stuck food/gas out. This product has saved a many bunnies life- young or old.
WATER--- Water is everything. Most all sickness comes from dehydration Best is well water-that has live probotic's, our city or community water has too many chemicals for bunnies-may have to use bottlewater-no live probotic's due to pasterized.
*Amazing Clover, Clover is best to help any bunny that does not feel well. Pick some from your yard, or put bunny on the ground over the clover. I use the top wire part of their cage to place over them on the ground,so they can eat clover
**Please note: The sad item of a rabbit is that they only have one way to breath, and that is through their nose. They can not breath through their mouth for an alternative! Air needs to get in & out of their nose to breath. This is why they can have heat strokes.
Hope these quick tips help.

"We believe in raising quality rabbits that can be shown, but show is not the main center of our rabbitry. We raise bunnies for pets, and believe all rabbits are special in their own way as God has designed them. You should not find any of our bunnies in shelters because we always welcome them back if you can no longer keep them.
We do not always agree with the promotion of meat rabbits or disqualifying of certain colors, appearance or size." This sometimes promotes breeder to repeatedly breed to find perfection by set standards to maintain show qualities, and discards the unperfected ones.
We do not raise rabbits for meat. The promotion of meat rabbits could be encourage for mass food production; this food consumption can be for snake food, coon dog chases, humans, etc.
Anyway rabbits are more like a guinea pig, and how many people eat rodents!
